RTT NWA Lake Swepco Recap

The first event on the RTT NWA Trail is in the books. Congratulations to Nathan Bohannon on the victory! The day started with a slight breeze, but by noon the winds were gusting over 30 mph and started driving anglers off of the lake. Fishing proved tough but several anglers scratched out a limit. Finesse techniques seemed to be the go to for most of the top anglers, the winner credited his victory to Golden's Finesse worms rigged on a drop shot. 2nd place angler David Bailey also used Goldens Finesse baits to catch his fish and 3rd Place Finisher Brenden Johnson went to work with some custom colored soft plastics from Disciple Baits. Jr angler Carson Mcbride used a Terrordactyl lures TRD ned head to catch his limit and land in 4th place. Justin Malott rounded out the top five and used a variety of soft plastics to land his limit. Jason Klingman took big bass honors with a solid 17.5" fish.

In spite of the windy forecast 61 anglers came out to fish the opener. Over half the field boated at least one keeper bass, but this was a very tough day. Several of 2015s most consistent anglers struggled to get anything going. It was a big day for the junior anglers however. Carson Mcbride (4th) and Declan Mcdonald (7th) showed that the young guns on the RTT are no joke.

Looking forward to seeing everyone April 2nd for the Beaver Lake RR!
